This 14 Days Uganda Safari with Gorillas is a rewarding experience safari that perfectly offers opportunities for you to visit the most visited Uganda Safari National Parks: Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Additionally, you further relax and enjoy the scenery of Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale as well.

Day 1 Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

After break fast, your guide will drive you to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop over at Kaniyo Pabidi for primate tracking, and visit to the top of the falls. Where the River Nile is furiously forced through a 7m cleft and it plunges over 50m down into the devils pool; with plum of spray casting rainbow. Dinner and over night at luxurious Paraa / Mid Range Nsambya River Lodge / Budget Red Chili Tented Camp.

Day 2 Game Drive and Launch Cruise up the Base of the falls;

Have early coffee and proceed to ferry to cross the Nile to the northern bank for early game drive thisis fantastic and we shall be looking for the lions, hyenas, criss-crossing tracks. We shall be in close contact with giraffes, Kobs, Red bucks, Bush Bucks and Oribs. Amazing birdlife include Ground hornbill,Kori Bustaeds, Stanley’s bustards, Crested Cranes, Yellow billed stalk, Saddle bill stock and alot more.We get back to the lodge for lunch and thereafter we take a cruise up to the Nile to the bass of the fall, and this is magnificent spectacle. From here, the mighty river Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to be placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos, Crocodiles, Water bucks and buffaloes. If lucky you may catch the sight of the rare shoe bill. In addition hippos and crocodiles are abundant and you will see elephants,buffaloes,water bucks and a variety of birds, ducks, bee eaters, fish eagles. The launchtrip (17 km and back takes 3 hours). Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park:

After breakfast you transfer to Fortportal with stop over enroute for lunch,arriving late in the evening. Dinner andovernight in Luxurious Primates Lodge/midrange RwenzoriView/Budget nyinabulitwa Country Resort.

Day 4:Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park.

After early breakfast, briefing, here you will find one of the largest populations of chimpanzees in Uganda, you will also have a chance to see other primates and forest bird life.Remember to carry water, rain gears, jungle boots and back pack. It will be perfect opportunity to listen to the chimps as the grumble, our closest relatives. After lunch in fort portal, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with stop over at the Equator queens pavilion, driving slowly through the crater track for scenic view. We shall check in for dinner and over night at the luxurious Mweya Safari lodge / midrange Jacana lodge / Budget Institute of Ecology hostel.

Day 5 transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, stop over for lunch enroute and Equator reaching Queen Elizabeth Park late afternoon.

Day 6: Game drive and launch trip on the Kazinga Channel

After a cup of tea/ coffee, enjoy the spectacular sun rise and take on early morning game drive along the Queens Nile, Channel tracks and Kasenyi tracks.

We shall be looking for lions, hyenas and leopards. You will have the opportunity to see at close range Lec of Kobs, herds of Cape Buffalos, return to the lodge for break fast and lunch. Afternoon a boat trip along the hippo crowded banks of Kazinga channel gives you a unique unequalled wildlife experience. Eye to eye with Yawning hippos and surrounded by a vast numbers of migrant and resident water birds the boat puts one, rights in the heart of nature, Many buffalos rest in shallows while big herds of elephants enjoy themselves drinking and playing along the channel banks. Crocodiles have become a common sight and occasionally leopards may be seen. The legendary giant forest hog is visible rocking the bush. Warthog is a hallmark sight on the Mweya peninsula. The outstanding scenery along the crater at the foothills of the misty mountains of the moon (Mt. Rwenzori). The drive is breathtaking experience. Our friendly guides will assist in planning for a game drive giving you worthwhile talks. Retreat to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Optional Activities:
You may extend a day or two for the following activities

Maramagambo Forest: – Many suprises awaits you in the exclusive Maramagambo rainforest. A variety of short, medium and long guided nature walks are offered. Pythons are often observed in the grievances of the bats cave floor using the bats as a source of food. The cave is near the picturesque Blue lake and hunters cave. You may proceed into the heart of the forest where you will see tranquil crater lakes and wild chimpanzees, other primates and many forest birds including the Rwenzori Turaco.
Bird watching: Queen Elizabeth boasts of 606 bird life species. Our guide is knowledgeable and experienced and will guide you, offering you a good chance of spoting Uganda’s most sought after bird, the prehistoric looking shoebill stork.
Other species of most interest you will see include Martial Eagle, Papyrus gonolek,
African skimmer, African fish eagle and other rare birds. A minimum of 2-3 days gives you the opportunity to see these beautiful birds.
Tree Climbing Lions:- Truly, this is pearl in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The tree climbing lions can be spotted on large fig trees while Topi, Uganda Kobs and Buffalos graze in the studded savannah.
Traditional Salt works:- Your guide will drive you to the oldest 14th century salt production area where salt has been mined by traditional methods and is still in use today. Salt production peaks during the dry season and you will be given talk about it. This activity takes 1-3 hours.

Primates tracking in Kyambura Wildlife Reserve: The gorge is dramatic with the steep gorge formed by turbulated waters of the roaring Kyambura river, provides a lush riverine forest, home to chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, Olive baboons and redtailed monkeys and other primates as well as plenty of forest birds. A guided nature walk will take you into the gorge that is 100m deep and offers a great chance to track habituated chimps in their Natural habitat. It takes 2-4 hours.

Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Nationalpark.

After break fast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector; branch into the park for a game drive looking for tree climbing lions. You will also enjoy the spectacle of the Topi, Kobs, and Buffalos as they dot the acacia grasslands in the park. The experience is fantastic, arriving in Bwindi early in the after noon. Dinner and overnight in the luxurious Gorilla Resort Hotel / Midrange British Hotel Kisoro / Buhoma Community Camp ground. (Full board).

Day 8 Gorilla Tracking:

After early coffee, proceed to the park headquarters for briefing. You will need to be there by 8:00am and have the following items: Walking Sticks, Jungle boots, Raingears, 2 liters of water, back pack packed lunch. Porter services may be arranged should you require / need one. You will push your way slowly through the dense impenetrable forest criss-crossing animal trails, up to the Gorillas. At any one time, you will be 8 clients in your group. Sitting with the Gorillas as they grumble and murmur while feeding, playing will be your life long memorable experience. This is for sure fantastic. The activity takes between 2-6 hours Come back to hotel in early afternoon. If not too exhausted, why not take a village community walk? This will climax the visit by a cultural show by the Batwa Pygmy communities. In the evening proceed to hotel for dinner and overnight. (Full board)

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi- Kabale

After breakfast, you drive to Kabale through the winding and hilly country; here you will see the true “Switzerland of Africa” where the hill sides have been terraced. In Kabale, visit Kabale Museum. This is a display of the Bakiga Cultural heritage where one can see the ecological and natural historical exhibitions. It is a vivid reminder of the Kiga community colourfull past and rich tradition quite informatic as you will be guided. Your guide will then transfer you to your hotel.Overnight at Arcadia Cottages / Bunyonyi Overland Resort / Bushera Island cottages.

Day 10 Boat / Canoe and Community Walk:

After a cup of coffee, proceed to the village walk.Your guide will lead you to coffee plantations, blacksmithfegarons and the African grin distribution factory. After breakfast proceed for a boat / canoeride on the illustrations and scenic lava dammed Lake Bunyonyi. The area offers perfect opportunity for photography and birding. After lunch proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. After checking in,proceed for an evening drive, dinner and overnight in Luxurious Mountain Tented camp/ Mid range Arcadia Cottages / Budget Rwenyo Bandas.Full Board).

Day 11: Lake Mburo National Park

Have early and proceed to take early guided nature walk where you will see wildlife leaking salt from a platter. After there proceed for a game drive, have plentiful spectacles of the impalas, Zebras, Bushbucks, water bucks and a boat ride on the Lake Mburo. You will see a wide range of birds including the African Fish Eagle, African fin foot and Papyrusbush shrike.Overnight at Luxurious Mantance Camp / Midrange Arcadia Corttages / Budget UWA Bandas at Rwonyo. Day 12 Transfer to the Source of the Nile

After breakfast your guide will drive you to Kampala stopping enroute for lunch and drive to Jinja. In the evening for dinner and overnight at Nile Resort or Kingfisher Safari Resort.( Full Board).

Day 13: Source of the Nile and Bujagali Falls

In the morning try out the wonderful experience of the white water rafting. Visit the source of the Nile and Jinja town with colourful gardens and Asian coloured building style. In the afternoon you driveback to Kampala, with a stop over at Mabira forest ecotourism centre. Transfer to hotel in Entebbe, relaxing in the botanical gardens. Dinner and OverNight at Entebbe Botanical Beach Hotel.

Day 14 chimpanzees in Ngamba Islands in Lake Victoria

Take a hearty breakfast and get transferred to the pier next to the Lake Victoria to meet your 9:00 am boat trip. It takes about 45 minutes to cross to the Ngamba Island; you will also cross the Equator again in the waters. The sanctuary houses 39 chimpanzees’orphans. The guide will hand over to the Orphanage management who will give you briefs on the sanctuary; before touring the place. You will be amazed by the chimps as they clap their hands, dance, play in the cage with motor tyres and how they relate to each other and their keepers in the relatively short period of time. It’s all fantastic and fan. Admittedly, the ideal place for the chimps would be reintroduction in the forest / wild however,this is not possible for a variety of reasons making the sanctuary second to none.You will return to the main land and be transferred to Hotel and/or to meet your flight back home.
