Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park
Your Safari guide will collect you from the hotel and depart by road for Murchison Falls National Park. This scenic drive will take approx 5-6 hours stopping in Masindi town for lunch. Before reaching the lodge, you will stop at the top of the falls which is a fantastic sight. Here the Nile, the longest river in the world, is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging down 43 meters. Game viewing on the way is very good; look out for hippos, elephants, buffalos and many other animals, seen grazing on the banks of the river. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Red chili Rest Camp (FB)
Day 2: Murchison falls Game Drive, Boat cruise
Up early for a morning game drive. This is the best time to try and find lions. Your driver will take you across to Lake Albert and the Nile delta where you will see elephants, buffalo, giraffe, antelope and hopefully some lions. You will return to the lodge for lunch and have a chance to relax before taking a boat trip in the afternoon which takes around 3 hours. This boat tripalong the Nile is often cited as being the highlight of a trip to Murchison since it allows you to get up-close and personal with the animals. Along this stretch of the river, there are reported to be around 4,000 hippos in addition to some enormous Nile crocodiles. The birdlife is stunning with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the river banks. If lucky, you may see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill, which is a cross between the dodo and a dinosaur. The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impressiveness.Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Red Chilli Rest camp (FB)
Day 3: We will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The park is host to a large variety and volume of wildlife. There are over 560 species of bird found here including the martial eagle, black-rumped buttonquail, Verreaux’s eagle owl and African skimmer to name but a few.Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Lodge/ Hostel (FB)
Day 4: This morning we will go on an early morning game drive.
In the afternoon a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others.

Day 5: Nature Walk and Transfer back to Kampala
This morning you will have the option of doing a nature walk at Maramagambo Forest, or a walk at the Kyambura Gorge. The Maramagambo rain forest stretches from the foot of the Kichwamba escarpment to Lake Edward. The steeply forested walls of Kyambura are home not only to chimpanzees but also to the red-tailed monkey, black and white colobus, giant forest hog and many bird species. A half day walk down to the Gorge is a rewarding experience, not only for seeing chimpanzees but also to explore the beautiful river valley. A walk along the top of the Gorge gives a wonderful aerial view of the valley. We will head back to Kampala, stopping along the way for lunch. We will arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon.
